Character info
Series/Fandom: Assassin’s Creed
Character's Name: Altaïr Ibn- La’Ahad
Character's Sex: Male
Character's Age: 26
Canon point: End Game
Abilities:
- Assassin of the Creed
Trained from a very young age with the sole intention of being nothing more than a dangerous killing machine, Altaïr is not only well trained in the arts of assassination, but has acquired various sets of useful skills that make him quite a devastating opponent:
- Expert Swordsman : Close Range
Tied around his waist with a sturdy sash is one of Altaïr’s main weapons. With an edged handle, a long dark blade, it can cut off limbs, slice necks, impale guts, tear hearts, and offer deep and lethal gashes to any individual that has the displeasure of being his target. Altaïr is able to take on several enemies at once (and we’re talking big numbers here) without much of a problem. He’s well ranged in combat and has several sets of counter-attack moves that make him almost impossible to defeat.
Hand-to-Hand Combat : Close Range
For certain techniques such as interrogation, hand-to-hand combat is essential to refrain from getting too much attention. From grabbing and shoving to full out battling, Altair is as dangerous with a closed fist as he is with a sword or his share of throwing knives. He can also use counter moves to keep his enemies from man-handling him.
Expert with Knives : Long Range
Although the job of an assassin revolves around the subtle and the personal, Altaïr has a set of sharp throwing knives he uses when defeating far away targets. With both precision and accuracy, there is no way he can miss. Hidden between his sleeves, over a holder on his shoulder, or on a pouch on his side, these throwing knives are very easy access.
Altaïr’s skills have surpassed many of the other individuals of the creed. He is able to incorporate throwing knives into battle by using a skilled variation of knife and blade: attacking closer targets with a short blade and eliminating farther targets whenever given an opening.
Hidden Blades : Assassination and technique
The true sign of a master assassin is the missing finger on their hand that marks the position of a potential hidden blade. Underneath sleeves and well placed wrist gauntlets, a hidden blade for the perfect assassination is lodged. The removal of the finger is necessary in order for the user not to hurt himself. (At least in this time period).
Alongside this precious weapon, the assassin has to have certain skills in order to properly take advantage of a mission at hand. From social stealth to amazing acrobatic maneuvers, his entire body is a weapon.
Eagle Vision : Unique
Something that Altaïr possessed and that very few of his fellow assassin’s shared was a six sense intuition. He is able to read people and sense their intentions when he’s in full health. It might not seem helpful but in a crowd of people, he can easily pick out potential threats or targets. It can also be assumed this intuition is what makes him such a good fighter: he can see attacks and counter them before they happen.
High Agility and Stamina
As part of his training, Altaïr is fit and ready for any stress he has to put his body through. He is well versed in various acrobatic maneuvers able to climb pretty much anything with a good grip or space to hold. He is able to run or be in action for long periods of time without any fatigue. In regards to agility, with all of his acrobatic moves and fighting styles, he's very flexible and agile.
Strengths:
- His training and his quick thinking makes him very adaptable. His good sense of intuition and calculation of any circumstance allows him to pretty much explore and create various means of executing anything he puts his mind to. He's young and he's intelligent, different era's won't make a difference. He can survive through everything.
Weaknesses:
- Despite his amazing technique and his adaptability, Altaïr isn't very good when it comes to working with people. He's intelligent but he's also very stubborn and is used to working alone. Considering it's a one-man army, it's not so bad but were he ever to be overwhelmed, this could pose as a definite threat.
Background:
- Assassin's Creed - HERE
Appearance:
Personality:
- Because of his training that entirely made up most of his childhood, Altaïr grew arrogant, cold, and always favoring the creed and their beliefs. Considering he reached amazing feats at such a young age of twenty-four, the assassin became prideful allowing the sacrifice of those around him just to land a kill. He would break the rules, disrespect the laws of their creed all for his benefit. For the kill. Amongst these errors, his pride caused the loss of a fellow assassin and the arm of another.
The damage he caused forced Altaïr to be punished, returned to the level of novice, and tested. This was a pinnacle of change for Altaïr, important because in his future it's this man who becomes the head, face, and philosophy to the assassin's that follow in many decades to come. He learned to be open-minded, he learned to listen to his enemies and to contemplate. He became mindful and slowly but surely began to infest more broad thoughts and emotions. Although his pride remained, it became enforced as pride for his brothers and his creed, to the peace seekers and the knowledge bearers. Altaïr became calmer, focused, and positively driven.
When it comes to people and relationships, Altaïr is no stranger to the social status. Saving civilians from the tyranny of abusive leaders is all part of a days work for an assassin of the creed. He may come off as cold, distant, and perhaps sometimes not very sympathetic. It's not entirely because he doesn't care he simply has been under certain rules and a specific way of reacting to things for such a long time. He's quickly learning considering how open minded his new experiences have made him. It just takes time.
Led it not be said that Altaïr has no compassion because it's in his duty to protect those that cannot defend themselves. He will certainly stand up for anyone who needs his help or deserves it just as easily as he would kill or reason with someone who needs to change.
Strengths:
- Altaïr's determination is beyond many of his kind. When he gets his mind set on something and when he feels strongly about something, there is no way of convincing him out of getting what he needs to get done. He will fight for a cause or someone until his death if it so comes to that. He's so focused and dedicated.
Weaknesses:
- Despite his training, Altaïr is very human. Strong emotions like anger and sadness can easily overwhelm the man and cloud his judgment. His pride can make him stubborn and blind. He's a man of heart who cares and listens but these traits at times might send him off the edge. He is no stranger to revenge and rage.

- [VIDEO] TRAVERSE TOWN
[After the freakout and a lot of brain break, Altaïr finally seemed to recover from the shock of strange creatures, bright lights, and obviously a different place. He was perched on a ledge somewhere around the gizmo shop as a moogle flew beside him. He was pretty darn high.]
This is very dangerous, kupo! Please, sir, don't fall!
Silence, strange beast. There is nothing more I need from you. Take your leave.
But you're not okay! You're climbing up buildings so I nee-
My business is of my own, I have no need for you. I must search for my brothers and find my own answers. Be gone before I lose my temper.
[And clearly this particular moogle didn't exactly take threats well because, well, too many threats later and you start worrying. With slight hesitation, he began to move away leaving Altaïr alone on his viewpoint.]
RP Sample:
- Altaïr had always been one of the more open-minded individuals amongst his brothers but nothing could have prepared him for this. Brought to a strange modern world without much of an explanation, surrounded by strange creatures and things- it was almost too much! Altaïr didn't know what to say or do, where to start to look and what exactly to think about his circumstance. Normally his missions were always started from scratch but this?
He took a deep breath, there was no point in panicking. He had to think, contemplate, search for answers and his brothers, and then act accordingly. He had done this before, he was well trained. He knew there was always a way and for the sake of his creed he would find it. The first stop was finding out what this strange city was about. The lights were mesmerizing yet terrifying. The people were strange and he dared not speak to them yet. He wanted to see just how different this town truly was: he needed a viewpoint.
A quick chatter with one of those flying beasts and he deduced there was a tower, the highest structure of the city. The architecture around him was strange but a smooth brush with his hands against the strange material made it clear there was still a chance to climb. A little reassured, he walked forward. He would do what he had to do.
